Hair Tools

I caved in and bought a Mason Pearson Junior Mix Brush. They have been making their historic brushes since 1885 in London! These brushes have stellar reviews and are good for your hair in so many ways!! Read about them here…

The T3 was an InStyle Beauty Pick, Allure Beauty Pick and highly rated onAmazon and at Nordstrom, so I did it!  Last night I dried my hair in about 10 minutes- A RECORD by a long shot! So if you are looking for a new hairdryer, the T3 is amazing- look no further!! In addition to fast drying time, the T3 blow dryer boast benefits such as being feather-light and less frizz after drying!

I got a new toy yesterday from Amazon and I’m already head over heels for it!! The BabylissPro Nano Titanium Ultra-Thin 1 3/4″ is wider than a Chi and has 4 different heat settings! My hair was straighter than with my Chi, and my straightening time was probably cut in half (hence the 5 star Amazon review)! I’m hooked! Regular price $160 and I got it for $89.90 at Amazon! LOVE IT! I also thought it was easier to get the ends to curl under!

#4 Aquaphor is a very simple multi-use product that everyone must have in their homes! Aquaphor Healing Ointment! Doctors swear by it for eczema, moisturizing and healing…. I even use it as diaper rash ointment for the baby or to put on rashes and chapped areas on the face or body! After you get out of the bath, cover your feet in Aquaphor then put socks on and let those feet saturate overnight! Repeat nightly until your feet are soft and supple! Find at most grocery and drugstores!

#3 To get those legs you dream of take these tips and add to your routine- they will help beat any dryness you have now and give you that glow! Please be sure to moisturize immediately when you get out of the bath or shower on wet skin-NOT COMPLETELY DRY- do not wait!! The best emollients are oil based- baby oil, almond oil and massage oil (Neutrogena Body Oil is what they recommended). Thick creams are better than thin creams due to higher oil content (Cerave Cream is what they recommended). If you like a particular cream and it is too thin, add oil to it when in your hand and mix before applying! Exfoliate your legs once a week! I personally use a few different lotions depending on what time of day it is and what I am doing. This sounds like a lot, but just as you pick out your outfit everyday based on what you are doing, you should pick out your lotion! See my post on Glowing Legs for lotion suggestions!

#2 Fish Oil Moisturizes. This was wonderful tip from my dermatologist… Take 500-2,000 milligrams of fish oil every night!  Fish Oil is said to increase skin moisture up to 60 percent and add moisture to your hair! If you have really dry skin and do not each fish (that’s me), take 2,000 milligrams a day! Vegetarian option of flaxseed oil, but isn’t thought to be as effective! Greg takes one and I take two 1,000 milligrams of fish oil in the pill form and buy a generic store brand!  Fish oil is also good for the heart, anti-aging, along with so much more!  Check with your doctor, pharmacist, or research on the internet if you have any questions!  Here is a good link!

Fish Oil 1000 mg Dietary Supplement Softgels

#1- Do not take showers and baths that are too hot!  Did you know that hot water dehydrates your skin and leaves you feeling dry? (I’m so guilty!) Stay away from all of the harsh soaps and fragrances we tend to bathe with. The harsh ingredients remove our natural skin oils leaving us dry and rough! Try gentle cleansers without all the fluffy fragrant stuff… Dove, Aveeno, Olay or a mild baby wash!  I personally use Ivory White Body Wash and Love it- some body washes will leave your bath or shower for slippery and this does not!! Simple and clean!  Not every beauty product has to be expensive and complicated! Be sure to only wash with soap once to twice daily, the areas that have an abundance of sweat or oil glands like feet, underarms, face and “personal areas”. The rest of your body does not need soap everyday!
